Texas Nurse Retreats
CODE YOU is a San Antonio-based nonprofit that runs half-day nurse retreats across Texas. Each retreat carries 6 CE contact hours and is built around a single goal: helping nurses move from isolation, apathy, and compassion fatigue back to connection, empathy, and purpose.

Who hosts CODE YOU in Texas
CODE YOU was co-founded by Phyllis Morton, MSN, RN, SD and N. Tamara Ramirez, MASFSD, BSN, RN — both practicing nurses and trained Spiritual Directors. Tamara worked as a hospice nurse in Texas for nearly two decades. Our work is grounded in research presented at the Texas Nurses Association Conference in June 2024 on Brave Healing Spaces and on active listening as a stress-injury intervention.

Why a Texas-based retreat matters
Texas faces some of the most acute nurse shortages and turnover pressures in the country. Texas nurses also carry caseloads, patient acuity, and regulatory expectations that other states don't see at the same scale. A retreat designed by Texas nurses, for Texas nurses, gets to the real work faster — no preamble, no translation. CODE YOU shows up where you are.
Accreditation
Nursing continuing professional development activities offered by CODE YOU are approved by the Oregon Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
