This self-paced continuing education activity is designed to support nurses in cultivating presence and practicing open-hearted nursing through evidence-informed breath practices and reflective inquiry. The course addresses the impact of stress, compassion fatigue, and burnout on nursing practice and offers practical strategies to support emotional regulation, nurse well-being, and compassionate patient care. Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this activity, the participant will be able to: - Define open-hearted nursing. - Identify three reasons open-hearted nursing is essential to nurse well-being and patient care. - Describe key characteristics of open-hearted nursing practice. - Identify two barriers to providing open-hearted nursing care. - Apply at least two breath practices to support presence, emotional regulation, and compassionate care. Session Details: This self-paced session is the seventh of twelve in the CODE YOU Wholistic Well-Being series and is worth 1 CE hour. Accreditation Statement: This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by the Oregon Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
