Constanza Roeder

Board President

As an in-demand speaker, consultant, and thought leader in the field of Arts in Health, Constanza helps leaders, teams, and individuals improve the health and well-being of their communities through the arts.

​

Her experience as an adolescent leukemia survivor, voice teacher, and singer led her to spend over a decade singing at the bedside of thousands of cancer patients. She founded the award-winning nonprofit Hearts Need Art: Creative Support for Patients and Caregivers, and the “Arts for the Health of It” podcast.
 

Ms. Roeder received the 2018 Graceann Durr Humanitarian Award and was selected as one of the Top 100 Healthcare Visionaries by the International Forum on Advancements in Healthcare for 2021. Her work has been featured in various publications such as ThriveGlobal, Authority Magazine, Ticker News, National Association of Teachers of Singing, San Antonio Express News, and the cover of MD News Magazine.

Mary Piker, BSN, RN, BBA, SD

Board Secretary

Mary brings over 40 years of healthcare experience to the Board, 36 of which have been as a Registered Nurse working in areas of vocational education, community mental health program management, and long-term care nursing and consulting.  Mary appreciates that every nurse practices conflict resolution on a daily basis due to the multiple expectations and goals of patients, peers, administration, and the bureaucracies that oversee them.  
 

Mary has also been privileged to serve as spiritual director to many individuals over the past 30 years and has trained, supervised, and mentored the formation of other spiritual directors.  Currently, she has a thriving spiritual direction practice, does vocational training at a local school district, and is an officer in the Texas/Oklahoma Department of the American Gold Star Mothers, Inc.  
 

Mary earned a BBA in Accounting from Midwestern State University, a BSN from the University of Utah, and a Certificate of Completion in Spiritual Direction Formation from the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and the Sisters of Benedict.

Matthew Van Winkle – COO | Healthcare Executive

Board Treasurer

Matthew is the Chief Operating Officer for Inpatient Progressive Health of America (IPHA) and MR3 Health, where he leads daily operations, strategic initiatives, and innovations that improve patient care and organizational performance.

​

At MR3 Health, he directs cross-functional teams, manages resources, and executes strategies aligned with the company’s mission to advance care through health monitoring solutions. His leadership has supported MR3’s growth and improved outcomes across the care continuum.

​

Previously, Matthew served as Vice President of Business Development for an accountable care organization, leading strategic partnerships and growth efforts in value-based care.

​

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from St. Mary’s University and a Master’s degree from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. With expertise in healthcare operations and strategy, he is a committed advocate for advancing patient outcomes and system efficiency.

McFadden

Mary Hernandez, MSN, RN

Board Director

Mary is the Director of Professional Nursing Practice at Methodist Healthcare System in San Antonio, where she also fulfills the role of Pathway Program Director. Additionally, she contributes to The University of Texas at Arlington’s Nursing Program as Faculty and Adjunct Professor.

 

Throughout her career, Mary has excelled in nursing education, leadership, mentorship, and direct care provision in critical care and progressive care settings. Her expertise extends to program development, community outreach, clinical excellence applications, and the implementation of shared governance structures.

 

Mary boasts multiple national certifications and is a frequent speaker on leadership topics. She regularly presents posters and has received notable awards, including the San Antonio Nursing Consortium Best 25 Recipient in 2019, the Image Maker Award in 2018 and 2023, and the HCA Innovator Award in 2016. She actively contributes to the nursing community as a Sigma Global Excellence Leadership Succession Board Member and as a member of the Texas Nurses Association District 8 Council. She has co-chaired the Nurse Imagemaker Celebration for the past 3 years and spearheads leadership retreats and summits.

Ken Ramirez, MBA

Board Director

Ken has over 20 years experience building and leading healthcare elearning companies and brands including Nurse.com, OnCourse Learning, Elite Learning, Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, and Relias. Additionally, he had the opportunity to work for and serve on the board of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, where he led charitable giving and strategic partnerships.
 

He brings to the board deep expertise in content development, accreditation, learning platforms, strategy, marketing, and non-profit fundraising. Ken earned his Bachelors in Marketing and MBA from Azusa Pacific University.
